Welcome to my site and thanks for coming by! Special thanks to Keith Prives, who designed this site, and Michael Dickens for all the valuable technical support. What a team! If you found us through my band's website, great! If not, please visit www.polarisband.com.

Though i've been drawing from an early age, it was when I went to East Central College in Union, MO that I realized I wanted to make art for the rest of my life.It was there I met Charles SHOEmaker (yes- he spelled his name that way), teacher of design, drawing, and painting; artist in residence. SHOE taught me alot about acrylics and mixed media, opening my eyes to the world of art and all it's possibilities, pushing me to go out on a limb and mess up a perfectly good canvas.

Along the way, he taught me how to make a finished piece presentable to show and be seen by the public. SHOE used to make us go to the library every week and check out an art related book or two, encouraging us get out there and teach ourselves about art. The overall environment he established in the art department was one of hard work and self discovery. We all worked together, went out to see art and films, talked about art, and critiqued each other's projects. It was an exciting time! Some really good artists came out of that program. Charles was a beloved friend and teacher and I miss him every day.

From East Central, I went on to attend Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield, MO, where I took all kinds of art history, education, and studio classes. I also taught preschool while attending the university, where I had a kind of revelation watching children make art. What freedom they have! Children of that age make art with a focus on the activity itself, unconcerned with the outcome or product- the ultimate experimentalists! This reinforced that drive in myself and my sensitivity to that process.

I eventually moved to St. Louis to rejoin my band, Polaris, and started showing and selling my work more. I have works in many private collections in a variety of locations, including Dallas,TX, San Francisco and Hollywood,CA, Santa Fe and Las Cruces,NM, St.Louis and Springfield,MO, Lincoln,NE- even one in Seoul, Korea! Feel free to inquire about any specific piece you are interested in via e-mail. In the detail of each image, you will find size, medium, and who's collection the peice belongs to. If collection says "none", the piece is available.
